Clinical Laboratory Manager

The Laboratory Manager will act in a hands-on capacity supervising the daily operations of the quality control and reference laboratory. Position manages department's clinical lab staff and is responsible for laboratory testing and operations by supervising and providing needed support within the organization.  Ensures effective quality control, inventory supply, equipment management and performs routine and non-routine testing.  Coordinates staff training and competency assessments.   Identifies and corrects problems that may affect the safety, purity, and potency of the blood products.  Ensures compliance with regulations and standards issued by regulatory agencies and accrediting organizations.

Successful candidate will bring strong leadership and managerial skills along with advanced proficiency in lab testing, test performance, results reporting, quality control standards, and instrumentation in blood banking. Excellent analytical, problem solving, detail orientation and organizational skills a must along with PC proficiency, excellent multi-tasking, project and time management skills. Good written and verbal communication skills along with strong understanding of clinic regulatory requirements and familiarity with AABB and CLIA. 

Required qualifications and experience:

Bachelor's Degree emphasizing clinical laboratory science or medical technology. MT or MLS with ASCP certification. SBB a plus and/or willingness to pursue. 5 plus years clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing with experience in blood banking or hospital transfusion preferred. 3 plus years supervisory experience working directly with senior management.
